Windows 10 End of Life: security considerations and actions

Microsoft has stopped supporting Windows 10 as of October 14, 2025. Devices running Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates and will become increasingly vulnerable to security threats.

To protect the university, Windows 10 devices must be either upgraded or replaced, unless an exemption is approved.

If you are currently using a Windows 10 device procured through university or research funds, please reach out to your local IT contact so upgrade options and next steps can be discussed.
