What’s Coming Up at GCAC

The Graduate Centre for Academic Communication’s (GCAC) workshop series “Academic Communication Skills for Multilingual Grad Students” finishes up on Nov. 6 with a session entitled “Strategies for Clear Speaking and Pronunciation”.  International students will also want to attend our “Getting through Graduate Work” series, which continues in November with workshops on “Effective Note-taking”  (Nov. 2), “Poster Presentations” (Nov. 9), “Selecting a Journal for Publication” (Nov. 13), and “Making the Most of Oral Presentations” (Nov. 20).

Learn how to upgrade your academic writing skills in GCAC’s 5-workshop series running throughout November – “Improve Your Graduate Writing.”  Each Wednesday, we’ll focus on a different important aspect of writing: “Understanding Tone” (Nov. 1), “Managing Flow” (Nov. 8), “Establishing Coherence” (Nov. 15), “Achieving Correctness” (Nov. 22), and “Becoming a Productive Writer” (Nov. 29). Whether you regard yourself as a poor writer or a good one, this series can help you in your quest to become a great one. Try to make them all!

No advance registration is needed for GCAC workshops. Consult the workshop schedule on our website for times, locations, and descriptions.

Don’t forget that you can book one-on-one writing instruction at GCAC.  Writing Centre appointments are available for online booking throughout November.
