Wednesdays in October: Mindfulness through creative writing

In this five-part series, students will learn creative writing skills and put them into action. Each week, participants will receive writing prompts and activities to inspire their narrative writing. They will then have the chance to share their writing and connect with other students. We will use mindfulness and meditation to ground us in the present moment and to inspire creative thinking. 

Sessions run on Wednesdays in October, from 4 to 5:30 pm. A Zoom link will be emailed to registrants in advance of each session.  

October 6 – Introduction to Writing Poetry – Connecting with the Present Moment  
October 13 – The Places in our Lives Capturing the Details in Narrative Writing  
October 20 – The People in Our Stories – Characters in Creative Writing 
October 27 – Story vs. Truth – Plot in Creative Writing 
November 3 – Poetic Voice – Deconstructing Narrative
