The Graduate Community Development Fund (GCDF) was created in partnership with the University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies (SGS) in March 2017 to provide merit-based equity awards recognizing exceptional students on campus for their contributions to the graduate student experience. A total of fifteen bursaries are distributed each year from five award categories: one ‘open’ award category, and four equity-based award categories as follows:
- Women and Trans-Spectrum
- Black, Indigenous, and/or Person of Colour (BIPOC)
For each of the five award categories, three bursaries are distributed: one $1000 bursary awarded to the applicant with the highest ranked application, and two $500 bursaries awarded to the applicants with the 2nd and 3rd highest ranked applications respectively
