Your graduate research. 3 minutes. 1 slide.
U of T’s beloved Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition is back!
Every year, the 3MT challenges graduate students across the three campuses to present their research to a generalist audience in 3 minutes or less. In this year’s virtual competition, participants will move through the preliminary heats, with winners advancing to the semi-finals, and then the final, where they’ll present to an audience of their peers as well as a diverse panel of judges from across the university. Win that, and you’ll get to compete in the provincial-level competition. Win that, and you can showcase your research at the national and international level.
Who it’s for: All graduate students registered in a doctoral program or a master’s program with a thesis or major research project at the time of the 3MT competition.
What’s in it for me: A chance to develop your oral presentation skills, profile your research, and connect with your peers. (Bonuses: Fun and glory, plus cash prizes for first, second, and third place.)
Competition dates: Heats will begin on March 6, with the final taking place on April 13, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. See the full competition schedule with dates and times on our website. All are welcome to attend the final and cheer on their friends.
