SGS Graduate Education Council (GEC) elections

Five (5) graduate student seats on the Graduate Education Council will be vacated as of June 30, 2021 and nominations for election to seats will be accepted between 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 3, 2021 and 12:00 noon on Friday, June 18, 2021. “Graduate Student” means those students who are registered in the School of Graduate Studies. 

Division I – Humanities                       1 vacancy
Division II – Social Sciences              2 vacancies
Division III – Physical Sciences        1 vacancy
Division IV – Life Sciences                1 vacancy

Graduate Education Council is the academic advisory and approval body responsible for developing and implementing academic policy and regulations for SGS and graduate studies at the University of Toronto. It considers, recommends and, where appropriate, approves: new and/or revised SGS academic policies and regulations; reports of its standing committees; and other related matters as they arise.  Council is composed of members from across the University community. Twelve (12) representatives on GEC are graduate students who are elected by their peers to serve a one- or two-year term (July 1 to June 30) for a maximum of three years. Please share this information with your colleagues and encourage them to consider running as a candidate in the upcoming election.  Information about the Gradaute Education Council is available here.

Please submit your completed nomination form to sgs.dean@utoronto.ca by 12:00 noon on Friday, June 18, 2021.
