Promoting your Scholarly Book

The Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS) presents Promoting your Scholarly Book, the next session in the CRIS-JHI Book Publishing Series, on April 15. This session focuses on what happens after a scholarly book is published: how to support the press’ marketing campaigns ensuring audiences are aware of the new book, how to make sure it is submitted for consideration for book prizes in your field, and steps you can take as an author to promote your book.

The panel discussion will feature faculty-authors sharing how they approached this stage of the scholarly book publishing journey. Faculty panelists will be joined by an editor from the New Books Network a network of podcasts that can introduce your book to wider audiences, as well as a field book prize committee member. Practical advice will be offered around how and when to launch a promotion plan for your book and typically overlooked avenues—like departmental websites and specialize library collections at U of T—for showcasing your book to interested and new audiences.
