You’ve probably played Scrabble, but have you tried sCREEble? Anishinaabemowin Bingo? Or Baapaase, a mash-up of Jenga and charades? These are a few of the ways that the Centre for Indigenous Studies (CIS) makes language learning fun and kinesthetic!
They will be offering a special event for ILP students to learn vocabulary in a low-pressure environment … with lots of help along the way with sound charts and word lists.
You can find out more about CIS’s games here. Ciimaan/Kahuwe’yá/Qajaq (CKQ) is a language initiative that assists in the creation, facilitation, and delivery of Indigenous Language and cultural programming for Indigenous and non-Indigenous students at all levels.
