IMFG graduate fellowships open – deadline May 31

Applications are open for two graduate fellowships offered by the Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance (IMFG) at the University of Toronto for the 2024-25 academic year.

The IMFG focuses on the fiscal health and governance challenges facing cities and city-regions. The Institute’s mandate is to conduct independent research, spark and inform public debate, and engage the academic and policy communities around important issues of municipal finance and governance.

The IMFG Graduate Fellowship in Municipal Finance and Governance and the Blanche and Sandy Van Ginkel Graduate Fellowship in Municipal Finance and Governance are each valued at $5,000. To be eligible to receive either fellowship, students must be registered at a doctoral or master’s level on a full-time basis at U of T and pursuing studies and/or research related to municipal finance or governance. The holder of each award is required to do a presentation on their research at a seminar organized by IMFG.

There is one application process for both fellowships. These fellowships may be held in conjunction with any other award.

The deadline for applications for the graduate fellowships is May 31.
