What to expect:
- Art competition: Listen along as artists unveil and present their artwork to a panel of judges – emphasizing the intersection of art and science.
- Keynote & panel discussion: We are honoured to present Sonya Amin as our keynote speaker. A University of Toronto alumna and a pioneering force behind AXS Studio, Sonya leads a team renowned for transforming complex scientific concepts into captivating visual narratives. Our distinguished panelists include Dr. Jodie Jenkinson (Professor and Director of Biomedical Communications at U of T and Principal Investigator of the Science Visualization Lab), Dr. Allison Crawford (Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, Chief Medical Officer of 9-8-8 Suicide Crisis Helpline and the Founding Director of HeART Lab), and Heather Brown (Art Therapist and Registered Psychotherapist).
- Gallery viewing, & networking: Connect with a diverse group of professionals, academics, students, and community members to find new perspectives for science communications.
- Awards ceremony: Be part of an awards ceremony that honours the art pieces that best exemplify the transformative power of art in communicating science.
