Has COVID-19 caused significant delays in your research?

At the School of Graduate Studies, we remain concerned regarding the significant COVID-19 related research delays that may be affecting you. Some graduate students—either because of the nature, location, or stage of their research, or because of their personal circumstances—will be more profoundly affected by this pandemic than others. If you are a graduate student who is experiencing a significantly disrupted research trajectory due to the pandemic, we want to hear from you. What is the nature of those delays, and how can we help you make progress?

We would like to re-evaluate what supports are best suited to advance stalled or otherwise negatively affected trajectories. Early on in the pandemic, SGS, in collaboration with academic divisions and faculties, developed a series of supports to help students make progress on their research requirements, including tuition waivers, doctoral research completion funds, research pivot funds, and emergency funds, in addition to re-evaluating the nature of planned research projects (see https://www.sgs.utoronto.ca/lookingahead/recovery-adaptation/). But the circumstances have changed. And we also realize new students have joined us at U of T since then.

We need more input from you. If you have experienced a significant disruption or delay, please take 5 to 10 minutes of your time to fill out the questionnaire below by Monday, January 17. Your responses will be anonymous and will help SGS develop the next set of supports.
