Graduating in November?

The Office of Convocation looks forward to celebrating the Class of 2022. At this time, we plan to welcome our graduating students in-person to Fall Convocation from November 7 – 11 at Convocation Hall, subject to any changes in public health guidance.

Details will be posted on the Office of Convocation website as they are confirmed. Information will be sent to potential graduates after September 30, 2022.

Need graduation photos?

CanGrad will be on-site at the School of Graduate Studies, 63 St. George Street, from 10am to 4pm on November 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11. Book your seating directly with CanGrad (mail@cangrad.com). Please include your degree with the preferred day and time in your email. All emails will be answered in the order they are received.

If you cannot attend on these dates email CanGrad Studios for studio information. The portrait sitting fee is $28.25 which includes the photography, your hood and gown, and the archiving of your images. If paying by credit card the sitting fee is $30.25.

You will have 24-28 photographs taken and will be sent an online gallery with order forms and web size proofs of your images for viewing and ordering. The portraits take approximately 10 minutes, and you are asked to arrive 5 minutes prior to your time to get you ready for the shoot. You may order at any time as they keep all images on file.

Attire: CanGrad will supply the hood and gown. A shirt & tie is suggested for men, and a white or cream blouse with a collar is suggested for women.  Anti-glare glasses are recommended otherwise the studio lights will reflect on your lenses. (Even anti-glare coated lenses can reflect the lights.) These are only suggestions; please prepare for the photos as you see fit.  You are responsible for your own hair and makeup. Please use only powder or matte / flat makeup and lipstick without any gloss.

Please note that owing a balance of degree fee only is the exception to the diploma hold rule.

Fees for doctoral students in their final year are based on the date the final thesis is submitted to SGS. Fees are adjusted by the end of the month. Refer to the Graduate Fees tables for complete details.
