The event is a fun low-key environment to sip some tea and hang out, do some crafts, and above all, get to know your fellow grad students. The coffee hour will be facilitated by our Gradlife Ambassador and the crafts will involve easy everyday items, like paper and pens. We hope that Tea and Crafts hour will become a community space that people keep coming back to each week. You are welcome to bring whatever craft you want if you prefer! Facilitated by the Gradlife Peer Ambassador.

Grad Connection: Where are you finding Community and Connection? (Zoom)

Thursday November 10, 12-1:30pm

Take a break and connect with other grad students. Share your experiences in finding belonging in an informal and comfortable setting. A facilitator will answer questions and support you in navigating through and resources that will be helpful.

Grad Talk: Understanding & Responding to Microaggressions (Zoom)

This session will explore what microaggressions are and how understanding them can help us to create more inclusive environments. We will also learn how to address them in everyday situations. Facilitated by Haneen Azzam, Student Life Coordinator, Equity and Leadership Training.

Grad Workshop: Talking to New People (in-person event)

Do you find talking to new people difficult? Do your fears hold you back from making connections? Are you finding it hard to build meaningful connections? Talking and connecting with new people is a challenge that everyone faces (even for Graduate students) and we created this workshop to help you develop the skills you need to not only make new connections, but to manage the fear and anxiety that comes along with it. Facilitated by Jennifer Pinker, Coordinator Gradlife Programs and the Gradlife Peer Ambassador.
