New to attending graduate school in an English language environment?
GCAC offers a free, intensive 15-hour course on Academic Conversation Skills from August 10 – 14 inclusive for incoming graduate students who speak English as an additional language.
The course is now at capacity but we encourage students to join the waitlist. 6-week versions of the course, both online and in-person, will be offered in September.
Fall 2026 Courses and Workshops will open for registration at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18.
On-demand workshops are always available.

GCAC Dissertation Boot Camp: August 18 – 20
The GCAC is hosting a three-day hybrid Boot Camp from August 18-20 for doctoral students who are ready to write their dissertation in a structured, distraction-free environment. Students can choose to attend in-person, with light refreshments available, or join live online.
Completing a dissertation is a priority for doctoral students, although finding focused writing time can often be a challenge. Despite its importance, the dissertation is frequently neglected amid all the obligations and distractions of everyday life. A Hybrid Dissertation Boot Camp is a chance to step away from that routine and focus exclusively on dissertation-writing for three days in either an in-person or online setting.

Writing Centre consultations are available. In these 40-minute sessions, trained instructors work with graduate students at any stage of the writing process (outlining, drafting, revising, etc.)
