Feb. 1: Human Rights & Religion in Canada

Human Rights & Religion?  What do they have in common?  What are the ethics of religious engagement in the public square?

Participate in an experiential learning opportunity exploring religious engagement in Canadian social policy. The field trip includes stops at the offices of KAIROS: Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives, a national coalition of churches addressing such issues as Indigenous Rights and migrant and gender justice and the National Council of Canadian Muslims, including learning about their court challenge of the Quebec law restricting religious clothing worn by provincial civil servants. Transportation and lunch are included.
