Farewell to Dean Locke Rowe

SGS Dean Locke Rowe

SGS Dean Locke Rowe

Many of you have sat down to breakfast with Dean Locke Rowe, or have encountered him at the School of Graduate Studies’ two homes, 63 and 65 St. George. We are sad to announce that his term comes to an end on June 30, 2017.

Dean Rowe has been a tireless supporter of graduate students during his three years at SGS, and has worked hard to introduce initiatives that promote student wellness (for instance, engaging a full-time Wellness Counsellor for grad students and establishing the SGS Summer Gym Bursary), increase transparency about graduate funding, and create dedicated space for graduate students to relax and meet in the renovated School of Graduate Studies at 63 St. George.

As well, under Dean Rowe’s leadership, the SGS Innovation Fund was established to support initiatives at the faculty, department, and student level that help students meet program milestones, acquire professional skills, and be empowered to innovate within their own programs. Learn more about the SGS Innovation Fund through the Dissertation Boot Camp story in this issue of Gradschool e-news.

Thank you, Dean Rowe!
