Eclipse glasses & U of T’s Got Talent at U of T Libraries

Pick up your solar eclipse glasses at Robarts or Gerstein starting March 8

March 8, 1-5 pm onwards, while supplies last
On April 8, a total solar eclipse, where the moon’s shadow completely covers the disk of the sun, will pass over southern Ontario, southern Quebec, and through the Maritime provinces. Toronto will experience a very deep partial eclipse where over 99% of the sun will be covered by the moon. To safely view the eclipse, a limited number of eclipse glasses will be available on campus for students, faculty and staff, courtesy of the Dunlap Institute for Astronomy & Astrophysics. Remember, it is never safe to look at the sun without proper protection! Find out more about the eclipse and how to safely view it.
Starting March 8, you can pick up your eclipse glasses at either Robarts or Gerstein libraries Monday to Friday between the hours of 1 and 5 pm, while supplies last. At Robarts Library, glasses can be obtained on the second floor at a table in the north portico. At Gerstein Library, please visit the circulation desk on the ground floor. Glasses are limited to two per person.

Showcase your talent at U of T’s Got Talent

March 26, 5-6:30 pm

Robarts Library, 4th floor, Blackburn Room (How to get there)

Pick up your dusty instruments, find that old notebook with your slam poetry, give your stand-up comedy a whirl with an audience. U of T’s Got Talent invites students to an intimate setting where you flex your talent in front of a small and supportive crowd (or you can come to cheer on and watch talent unfold before you – spectators welcome!). It’s your time to shine. Donuts, soda and tea available (until they run out!). If you would like to present a talent, please email library.engagement@utoronto.ca by March 15 with the following information:

1) Who will be performing (groups can perform together too!)
2) What type of performance/talent they will be showcasing
3) If there are any tech arrangements we need to make (in terms of sending us an audio file, playing a video in the back and so on)
