December 2: Choosing Childcare That Works for Your Family 

A practical session to help you choose the childcare option that will best meet the needs of your family. You will find out what are the childcare options available; learn what factors to consider when looking at options, choices, and caregivers; learn how to find a childcare centre and individual caregivers; learn about the latest changes in the system; and find out about the financial assistance available and waiting lists.

December 5: Winter Crafts & Watch Party: Santa Claus Parade 

Join Hart House and the Family Care Office for a winter celebration! We will be making season-related crafts and watch the online Santa Claus Parade together on CTV or CTV2.

December 15: Introducing Mindfulness to Children: One Playful Breath at a Time 

Psychotherapist Sara Marlowe will playfully introduce mindfulness to children through story, movement and fun activities that go beyond ‘sitting still.’  Sara will also include an activity at the start for both parents & caregivers. Workshop recommended for children 6 – 10 years old accompanied by a parent.

December 17: Elder Care: Family Dynamics and Dementia 

This workshop is for family caregivers of individuals living with dementia. The focus of the session will be on exploring significant sources of conflict for families dealing with dementia and strategies for assisting families, building on strengths and resilience.

Mondays starting January 18: Expectant Parents Group (Winter session) 

A group for U of t expecting parents and their partners to gain insight into various aspects of pregnancy including equipment and gadgets they will really need, nutrition, emotional and physical changes, labour and delivery, and care for the mother and the baby. Participants will find support, be connected to resources and exchange ideas and experiences with other expectant parents regarding various aspects of pregnancy and life with baby. 

Sara Cooper, Registered Midwife, is the presenter of three sessions.
