Community Consultations on civil discourse at U of T
In response to growing polarization in society and on university campuses, Professor Randy Boyagoda has been appointed as the Provostial Advisor on Civil Discourse. As part of his mandate, he is leading a Working Group on Civil Discourse, the goal of which is to contribute insights towards strengthening a culture of respectful dialogue and the discussion of challenging subjects at the University. To meet this goal, the Working Group is consulting broadly across the U of T community.
Graduate students across the University of Toronto are invited to participate in this consultation in-person, virtually, and/or via the online consultation form.
In-person individual/small group consultations will be held on each campus on the following dates:
- UTSC: November 4, 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. [ Register now ]
- UTM: November 6, 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. [ Register now ]
- St. George: November 7, 10:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. [ Register now ]
Virtual consultations, open to all U of T staff, students, faculty and librarians from each campus, will be held as follows:
- UTSC: November 11, 2:30-4:00 p.m. [ Register now ]
- UTM: November 25, 10:00-11:30 a.m. [ Register now ]
- St. George: December 2, 10:00-11:30 a.m. [ Register now ]
