Charmaine Williams named Vice-Dean, Students, SGS

The School of Graduate Studies is excited to announce that Professor Charmaine Williams will begin a 5-year term as Vice-Dean, Students on July 1, 2019. Thank you to those who contributed your feedback to the consultation process.

Professor Charmaine Williams

An Associate Professor in the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work and the Factor-Inwentash Chair in Health and Mental Health, Professor Williams has been serving as Acting Vice-Dean, Students since May 2018. She has also served as Anti-Racism and Cultural Diversity Officer (2003-2004) and Provostial Advisor on Access Programs (2014-2015). From 2009 to 2014, she served as Associate Dean, Academic of the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work.

Among Professor Williams’ first tasks as Vice-Dean, Students will be to lead an SGS Working Group on Mental Health whose ultimate goal is to develop an SGS Mental Health Strategy. Updates on this process and its outcomes will be posted in future editions of Gradschool e-news.
