Understanding Your Health Insurance Plans 

Are you a new international graduate student? Do you want to learn more about your different health insurance plans and how to get the most out of your benefits? Join our session that will go over the basics of your UHIP and supplementary Health and Dental plans, as well as some elements of the health care system in Canada. Returning international graduate students will share their tips and experience with the plans and health care system here.

Global Chatter Hour 

Need a break from lectures and studying? Looking to make new friends?  Global Chatter Hour is an opportunity to connect with other international students in a relaxed virtual environment, facilitated by our International Student Experience Ambassadors. Registration is not required!  You are welcome to drop in at your leisure and stay as long as you’d like. Join us for games, conversation, and to meet other students studying across the globe.

Post-Graduation Work Permit Q&A Sessions 

Are you interested in staying in Canada and working after graduation? You may be eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) valid for up to three years. The session content has been pre-recorded and is available for viewing at any time: http://uoft.me/immigrationworkshops

Income Taxes in Canada for International Students 

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is hosting a live webinar for international students. Join us to learn about the Canadian income tax system, your responsibilities as an international student, what tax credits, refunds or benefits you might be eligible for, and how income taxes are filed in Canada. Staff from the Canada Revenue Agency will discuss the process and answer general questions. Please note that CRA staff cannot provide individual tax advice during this session.

Service Canada Programs, Services, and Updates 

Service Canada is hosting a live webinar for International students. Join us to learn about the programs and services at Service Canada, including the issuance of Social Insurance Numbers. Service Canada staff will also provide an overview of updates to programs, services and available benefits. Please note that Service Canada staff cannot determine an individual’s eligibility for benefits during this session.

Permanent Residency in Canada Webinar 

Are you an international student interested in staying in Canada permanently after graduation? Join us to learn about the different permanent residency programs. Staff members from Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will be on campus to give an information session about the Express Entry Program. The IRCC presentation will cover the Express Entry system, the different PR programs under Express Entry, the eligibility criteria for each program, and more.

The Centre for International Experience is awarding up to $1000 for student-led projects that support the international student experience during the winter semester. Language Exchange Info Sessions 

Bonjour U of T! Te gusta estudiar lenguas? If you are studying a language, or just have a general interest in languages, the Language Exchange program welcomes you! This is your chance to practice a new language while helping other students do the same during our regular weekly meetings.  
 
Curious? We invite all interested students to attend one of two Language Exchange Info Sessions! You will have the chance to learn more about the program, ask questions, and connect with other new students. The Zoom link will be emailed to you the day prior to the event.
