Flexible Futures Workshops for Graduate Students

Grad Career Educator AMA – Networking (online)
February 11, 10-10:30 a.m.

This Ask Me Anything (AMA) session for master’s and PhD students and postdocs will focus on how to network effectively in support of your career goals. The Graduate Career Educator from Career Exploration & Education will answer your questions and direct you to additional resources on networking best practices.

Research Your Career (online)
February 18, 2-4 p.m.

In this workshop, you will learn how to apply your research skills to explore career options and all aspects of the job search process from networking to creating job application materials and interviewing.

Work on Your Career: Co-working and Accountability Space (online)
February 19, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Join our small co-working group sessions designed to help you focus on career-related activities in a supportive environment. A co-working group is a shared online environment where individuals work alongside each other while benefiting from the presence and energy of others.

Discover and Communicate Your Career Skills (in-person)
February 28, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

In this in-person interactive workshop for graduate students and postdocs, participants will learn how to identify transferrable skills for non-academic careers. You will also have the opportunity to practice communicating these skills in relation to the job search process.

Career Support Drop-ins provide opportunities to engage in career conversations in the community with other students seeking career support from Peer Career Advisors and Career Educators.

Networking Workshop for 2SLGBTQ+ Students & Alumni (online)
February 12, 2-3 p.m.

This online workshop is a collaboration between the Sexual & Gender Diversity Office and Career Exploration & Education to help students prepare for the 2SLGBTQ+ Student & Alumni Networking Event.

2SLGBTQ+ Student & Alumni Career Networking Night (in-person)
February 26, 6-8 p.m.

If you’re a 2SLGBTQ+ student with questions about life as a 2SLGBTQ+ grad, come ask Queers with careers. Get their advice and start building your U of T community of supportive alumni.

Resume & Cover Letter Success: A Practical Approach (in-person)
February 26, 2-4 p.m.

This workshop explores how to craft impactful resumes and cover letters. You will be guided through interactive exercises to help you develop persuasive narratives, strengthen formatting techniques and tailor your documents.

Industry Spotlight – Career Conversations: Accessible & Inclusive Workplaces (hybrid)
March 5, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Career Exploration & Education presents a panel and networking event for students and recent graduates experiencing disability-related barriers to connect with employers committed to fostering accessible, equitable, and inclusive workplaces. Participants will gain valuable insights, build professional networks, and explore pathways to meaningful and accessible careers.
