Call for members: SGS Mental Health Advisory Committee

All graduate students are invited to nominate themselves or nominate another graduate student to serve as a member of the SGS Mental Health Advisory Committee (MHAC).

What is the role of this committee?

In the Spring of 2020, the SGS Mental Health Working Group was formed to complement the work of the Presidential and Provostial Task Force on Student Mental Health in recognition of the importance of considering the specific, and sometimes unique needs of graduate students.

To ensure the timely implementation of the SGS Mental Health Working Group recommendations and ongoing accountability in this area, SGS established the SGS Mental Health Advisory Committee (MHAC). The remit of the Advisory Committee is to provide advice and guidance on the implementation of the SGS Mental Health Working Group Recommendations.

Who can apply?

SGS is seeking membership that represents the diversity of our graduate student population. Students who represent a variety of backgrounds including: age, citizenship, family status, ethnicity, culture, ability and disability, economic and social capital, and mental and physical health are encouraged to apply.

Members will serve a 2-year term, but students who are only able to serve one year will be considered. The Committee will also include involvement of staff and faculty members who are engaged with graduate student mental health issues.

Please log into your OneDrive with your UTORid to apply at the Microsoft Forms link below. New student? Learn how to activate your UTORid virtually.

Deadline: September 30, 2022 at 5 pm
