Call for Members: Graduate Student Advisory Committee 2020-2021

All graduate students in research-stream and professional programs are invited to apply for a role on the Graduate Student Advisory Committee (GSAC), an initiative established by the Dean of SGS, Joshua Barker.

What is the role of this committee?

To provide advice and recommendations to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies on University-wide graduate student matters, including those related to academic programs, student experiences, student support, graduate student professionalization, graduate research, and any other matters that the Dean may bring to the committee for input.

Members may also discuss and/or recommend to the Dean new initiatives and improvements to current practice in graduate education, graduate research, and the graduate student experience at the University of Toronto.

Who can apply?

SGS is seeking membership from a broad graduate student population that includes students from all three campuses, all divisions, and both master’s and doctoral programs, as well as students from underrepresented groups.

Please note: For the 2020-2021 academic year, we are seeking representation from Master’s programs (including Professional Master’s), as well as students from the Humanities and from single department Faculties (e.g. Information, Daniels, Law, Music, etc.).
