Call for applications – Connaught PhDs for Public Impact Fellowship due January 30

The School of Graduate Studies invites applications to the 2025-2026 Connaught PhDs for Public Impact  Fellowship. This program aims to support PhD students as they make connections outside the university through innovative forms of public scholarly communication. Fellows from the Connaught PhDs for Public Impact Fellowship will focus on engaging the public through a scholarly agenda. This engagement can take a range of forms, from describing scholarly work in a public forum to partnering with a school, community organization, or cultural institution in an ongoing two-way exchange of knowledge and practices.

Program overview: 

A cohort of 15 fellows will be chosen, including a minimum of two fellows from each of the four SGS divisions (humanities, social sciences, life sciences, physical sciences)
Applicants must be full-time PhD/SJD students at the University of Toronto
Each fellow will be awarded $12,500: a $10,000 fellowship as a top-up to their stipend and $2,500 towards project expenses and/or professional development
Fellowship applications are due to SGS by January 30
