Adjusting to writing and speaking in graduate school?
The Graduate Centre for Academic Communication (GCAC) offers free, non-credit courses that provide a strong foundation in academic writing and speaking for new graduate students:
Graduate Writing 1: Establishing Your Foundation – an introduction to academic writing at the graduate level.
Academic Conversation Skills – for students who are non-native speakers of English.
Graduate students can now register for up to two courses starting in October via the Course Selection Form.
Other courses available in October to all graduate students:
Graduate Writing 2: Deepening Your Expertise – a more advanced writing course, following on from Graduate Writing 1.
Oral Presentation Skills – for students who need guidance on presenting clearly and confidently online and in-person.
Understanding the Research Article: Reading towards Writing (Physical and Life Sciences)
Writing Master’s SSHRC Proposals (Humanities and Social Sciences)
