2018 MiniMBA Program

Course dates: February 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 21, 23, and 28. Lectures will be held from 6-8 pm.

The Graduate Management Consulting Association (GMCA) is pleased to announce the 2018 MiniMBA Program. This 10-lecture program will provide graduate students and post-docs with:

  • A grounding in fundamental business concepts
  • The opportunity to learn from business experts
  • The chance to apply this new knowledge directly to business cases

Course format:
The lectures will be taught by industry professionals with diverse backgrounds. Each class will consist of a one-hour lecture on a specific topic, a mini group case practice on the same topic, followed by a group presentation of the solution. The course will cover concepts from the popular “The Ten-Day MBA” book, by Steven Silbiger. This year, the curriculum of MiniMBA program will cover:

  • Consulting Skills & Case Analysis
  • Marketing and Market Entry
  • Quantitative Analysis
  • Accounting
  • Organizational Behaviour
  • Finance
  • Operations
  • Economics
  • Strategy
  • How to Succeed in Case Competitions

At the end of the course, students will have the option to participate in a case competition,*** which will be judged by a panel of consultants.

***The case for the optional case competition will be released on Friday, March 2, 2018. Coaches’ Corner will be on Monday, March 5, 2018, and the competition on Friday, March 9, 2018.
The course book “The Ten-Day MBA” by Silbiger may also be purchased separately (soft/hard copy, recommended reading).
