This session will help you better prepare for in-person or virtual interviews. We will discuss how to identify and prepare for potential questions, as well as strategies for creating captivating stories that will showcase your accomplishments to potential employers.

 

Disclosure and Accommodation in the Workplace (Online)

Navigating disclosure and accommodations can feel intimidating or overwhelming. In this interactive themed facilitated discussion, you and a group of your peers will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss strategies for navigating disclosure and accommodations.

 

Identifying Transferrable Skills for Career Development (In Person)

In this in-person interactive workshop for graduate students, participants will learn how to reframe their specialized skills into transferrable skills that apply to non-academic career settings.

In this Ask Me Anything (AMA) session for Master’s and PhD students and postdocs, the Graduate Career Educator from Career Exploration & Education will answer your questions and direct you to additional resources on LinkedIn best practices.

 

Work on Your Career: Co-working and Accountability Space (Online)

October 25, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

Join our small co-working group sessions for grad students and postdocs designed to help you focus on career-related activities in a supportive environment. A co-working group is a shared online environment where individuals work alongside each other while benefiting from the presence and energy of others.

 

Navigating Caregiving & Work (Hybrid)

October 29, 10–11:30 a.m.

Join us over coffee, tea, and snacks to:

  • Develop strategies to identify employers that support priorities and needs of caregivers.
  • Acknowledge and identify systemic barriers caregivers face when seeking and maintaining employment.
  • Learn how to honor caregiving skills on your resume, and how, when and if to address resume gaps.
  • Develop structures of support and identify resources that can support you in finding balance between job-seeking, working and caregiving.

 

Research Your Career (Online)

November 7, 10 a.m.–12 p.m.

In this workshop for grad students and postdocs, you will learn how to apply your research skills to explore career options and all aspects of the job search process from networking to creating job application materials and interviewing.

 

Employer Events

International Monetary Fund (IMF) Information Session (In Person)

October 4, 9–10 a.m.

PhD students:
The recruitment drive for the 2025 Economist Program (EP) is underway. The IMF team—comprised of the EP team, a senior Economist and a former EP—will provide information about the program, work of the Fund and this year’s recruitment process, followed by a Q&A session.

Graduate students interested in the Fund internship program (FIP) are also invited to attend.
