Hart House Mentorship Program – Apply to be matched with an alumni mentor
Are you a current graduate student at U of T? Are you interested in getting matched with an alumni mentor this fall? If so, we are accepting student mentee applications to participate in the Hart House Mentorship Program from August 1-28th.
This mentorship program will provide the opportunity for students to connect one-on-one with accomplished and engaged alumni and friends from the Hart House community.
The Hart House Mentorship Program matches mentors and mentees not only on the basis of their professional pursuits and ambitions, but also on their personal priorities, interests and passions. In most cases, mentees will be matched with mentors who have similar interests or common backgrounds, but are in completely different career fields.
Time Commitment: We suggest a minimum of 3 meetings with your mentor during the school year (phone or online meetings are fine). In addition, there will also be an in-person Opening Reception on October 17 from 7-9 PM, and other optional events like Networking Dinners on November 22 and March 6, 2024 where participants will have an opportunity to meet young alumni and the other participants in the program who did not have a one-on-one match.
Eligibility: If you are a current graduate student at U of T, then you are eligible to apply.
Please apply August 1-28, 2023 through an online form found at https://harthouse.ca/mentorship. If you have any questions, you can contact Bonnie Merchan-Douglas at b.douglas@utoronto.ca
*Please note that due to the limited size of this program, unfortunately not every student that applies will get matched with a one-on-one mentor this year. Any unmatched students are still considered to be part of the mentorship program and they will have an opportunity to come out to two Mentorship Networking Dinners, November 22, 2023 and March 8, 2024 where they can meet with young alumni and unmatched mentors where they may find a suitable match to create a mentorship relationship for the remainder of the school year.
