Call for members: 2022-23 Graduate Student Advisory Committee

All graduate students in research-stream and professional programs are invited to apply for a role on the Graduate Student Advisory Committee (GSAC), an initiative established by the Dean of SGS, Joshua Barker.

What is the role of this committee?

To provide advice and recommendations to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies on University-wide graduate student matters, including those related to academic programs, student experiences, student support, graduate student professionalization, graduate research, and any other matters that the Dean may bring to the committee for input.

Members may also discuss and/or recommend to the Dean new initiatives and improvements to current practice in graduate education, graduate research, and the graduate student experience at the University of Toronto.

Who can apply?

SGS is seeking membership that represents the diversity of our graduate student population and includes students from all three campuses, all divisions, and both master’s and doctoral program. Students who represent a variety of backgrounds including: age, citizenship, family status, ethnicity, culture, ability and disability, economic and social capital, and mental and physical health are encouraged to apply.
