Course registration is now open

The Graduate Centre for Academic Communication (GCAC), a program within the School of Graduate Studies, provides all U of T graduate students – both native and non-native speakers of English – with advanced training in academic writing and speaking. The next session of free, online non-credit courses and workshops will be begin in Late October/ Early November 2021, and registration is now open.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPCOMING SESSION

  • Most October/November 2021 GCAC courses will be offered live online (except for Oral Presentation Skills Sections 7 and 8, which will be offered in person on the St. George campus, circumstances allowing, and the asynchronous Oral Presentation Skills Modular course, which is completely asynchronous)
  • By registering, you are committing to attend the course weekly during the live sessions offered at the time of the course(s) for which you register. Demand is very high so please check your schedule before registering to be sure you can attend all weeks of the course. If you don't have time to commit to taking a full course, consider taking workshops instead.
  • Students may take a maximum of two GCAC courses during the October/November session. Students who sign up for more than two courses will be automatically removed.

Writing Centre

Writing Centre appointments (synchronous and asynchronous online consultations) are available for graduate students who seek individualized guidance on their writing. In these 40-minute sessions, trained instructors work with you to improve your capacity to plan, write, and revise your academic assignments.
